So in order to document my whole vacation, before we went to Cali, the kids and I went to visit our good friends out in Reno for a week. We had a blast! We ate some incredibly yummy food, spent a day at the splash park, went to a play at the beach up in Tahoe, and best of all Janna and I got to act like teengagers again the night "Breaking Dawn" came out. Thanks Don, Janna, Aleah and Mya for the good times!

Llama Llover
Did you all know that my husband has a secret obsession for llamas? We found the perfect store in San Francisco for him. Everything was made out of llama fur. Yup, he was in heaven.
San Fran Fun!
We always love to go to San Francisco while we're in California. We didn't think we were going to make it this trip but it ended up working out quite nicely. So, Matt's parents took the kids for us on Friday and Saturday, and with some friends of ours we went to San Fran.
First we made a quick stop at the Jelly Belly Factory on the way. We wanted to do the tour but the line was a mile long and they said it would probably take an hour and a half to get through it, so we just ate some food in the shape of Jelly Belly's instead and bought the kids some souvenirs.
Then we continued on to San Fran.
Where we shopped...
Goofed around...
Watched the seals...
I mean the seals...
Rode the trolley...
Ate some yummy food and celebrated Matt's b-day... ![]()
Watched people get scared too death by the bush man...
And saw all the fun that San Fran has to offer...
We can't wait to go back!!!!
Only in San Francisco!
Who would ever REALLY wear this????
While shopping in San Francisco the boys ran across these hot pink pants (and Don is sporting a light pink skin tight v-neck shirt), and thought it would be hilarious to try these on for us and do a little fashion show. They came out of their dressing rooms and Janna and I hit the ground laughing. We couldn't believe that anybody would really sport this attire, let alone come up with such a fashion. REALLY people?
Day 2...
I guess that answers that question!!!! Yes, he really is wearing the EXACT same pants.

California Vacation!
So, we had a little over a week in California to spend with Grandma and Grandpa Kelly, Mike, Christy and Ava. Plus, a little bonus at the end when Nic and Kandis came through. We did the usual things like hang out by the pool, eat yummy food, celebrate Matt's birthday, spend a day at Marine World, feed the horses, do a little shopping, and watch lots of Olympics! Oh, and a trip to Cali wouldn't be complete without a trip to Great Grandpa Kelly's to see the chickens. We had a blast and never wanted it to end. The boys were especially sad to leave. They had so much fun fishing with Grandma and Grandpa and going to Six Flags. Here are some photos to remember the trip by...![]()

The birds really seemed to like us. Pay close attention to Matt's shirt.:)
To Catch a Chicken
Barber Bill
I thought this deserved it's own post. While in Cali, we decided to take the boy's to get their haircuts and what better place than Barber Bill's. For those of you who don't know, this is where Matt and his brother's got their haircuts while growing up. We thought Bill had actually retired, but low and behold while taking pictures out front he popped out of the shop and into one of our pics. He actually cut Brayden's hair. I almost felt like I was meeting kind of a famous person, I had heard so much about him. Matt says he hasn't changed a bit and the shop looked the same. He even used some of his same old jokes. We also spotted Josh in one of the baseball pics still hanging on the walls. I think Matt enjoyed his trip down memory lane. He probably never thought all those years ago that he would one day be bringing in his own sons to get their haircuts there some day.
First Day of First Grade
So, like most of my posts, this comes a week late. Brayden has now made it through his first week of first grade. So far so good! His teacher seems really nice, her name is Mrs. Doddridge which is quite a mouthful for the little ones. He came home from his first day of school all excited that they didn't have to "pull cards" this year. This is what they did in kindergarten for discipline. Everyone started on green, but if they got in trouble they would have to pull their green card, leaving them on yellow, which was their warning. If they got in trouble again they had to pull yellow, leaving them on red, and a note would be sent home. Even though he never got a note sent home last year, he did make it to yellow on a couple occasions which devastated him. So it was a sigh of relief for him when he didn't have to go through that this year. However, the next day he came home all bummed because he found out instead of pulling cards they now had to stay on their green light. Ugh!!! Not good news for Brayden. Hopefully he can keep his green light shining.
Oh, and he's riding the bus year. Another new adventure! He catches the bus at 7:05 am and doesn't get home until about 3:40 pm. That makes his bus ride an hour each way, but he loves it and has a lot of friends on the bus with him.
