8 Wonderful Years!!!!

Happy Anniversary to the love of my life!!!

             2008 04 21_0634

It's been 8 wonderful, marvelous, fun, challenging, magnificent, and dreamy years!  Worth every last moment of it.  So in honor of our 8 years together I'm going to share 8 of my FAVORITE reasons I love being married to Matthew Kelly:

1.  He is a quick learner...It only took once for him to learn never to hide in a dark closet, in a dark bedroom, to jump out and scare me.

2.  He tolerates my strange sleeping patterns and knows when I need my sleep...he doesn't like a grumpy wife.

3.  He will let me have anything I want...that is if I ask him in the middle of the night while he's talking in his sleep.

4.  He doesn't strike back in the middle of the night when I have to nudge him (hard sometimes) to get him to stop snoring.

On a more serious note...

5.  He is the most honest and trustworthy man/person I have ever met in my entire life.

6.  He is a motivated and hard worker...I never have to worry that he won't take care of his family.

7.  He gave me 2 of the greatest gifts in my life...Brayden and Andrew.

8.  He makes me HAPPY!!!!

Fun Anniversary Week-end!

We decided to get away for the week-end to celebrate our anniversary, and what better place than the city we got married in...Denver.

We dropped the kids off at grandma's (Thanks mom), and headed for Denver Saturday afternoon.  We spent the afternoon walking around downtown Denver, shopping at the 16th Street Mall, people watching (and boy are there some strange people in this world), and eating a magnificent dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.  We stayed the night at the Grand Hyatt downtown, which was a really nice place.  We went hot tubbing, and were going to watch a movie but it ended up getting too late and we were pretty tired, so we called it a night.

Here are some pictures of the occasion...

We had lots of fun, and it was good to have a week-end alone together.

One more thing...we wanted to thank our friends Don and Janna for the chocolate covered strawberries and Martinelli's they had sent to our room for us.  They were divine!!!!

Summer and warm weather is on it's way!!!!!!  And we can't wait!  We got a glimpse of summer today with our 81 degree temps, but tomorrow it's back to the 40's.  Summer can't come soon enough for us, because spring is definitely NOT bringing us the warmer weather.

Yo guy?!?!?!

                2008 01 01_0269

***So, normally I would put this under my "kids say the darndest things", but I thought it was a little long so I decided to post it instead.***

We were eating dinner at Qdoba one night and Brayden asks me...

Brayden:  Mom, do I look like a 'yo guy'?

Me:  (Thinking...what did he say?  A yo gabba gabba guy?, a yo-yo guy?, what does he mean?)  What, Brayden?

Brayden:  Do I look like a 'yo guy'?

Me (still completely confused):  What do you mean?

Brayden:  You know like one of those guys who walks around with his jacket like this (he shows me how his jacket is off of his shoulders), and who says "Yo" (in his deepest manliest gangster voice he can possibly muster).

Me:  Well, I guess, if that's what you want to call it.

Oh great!  Is my child aspiring to be a gangster?  We need to get out of Greeley quick!

Update: Sicklies

Okay, so here's a little update on us.  I started feeling better on Sunday and Monday, but staying out late Monday night rocking out with Daughtry and Bon Jovi did me in.  So Tuesday I was back in bed miserable, except for the trip I had to make to the doctor with Brayden.  Well one doctor's visit later Brayden was diagnosed with pink eye in both eyes, ear infections in both ears, pneumonia, and asthma caused by colds.  Poor guy, so we went to Wal-Mart to load him up on his prescriptions and that's when I started feeling really nauseous.  So we got out of there as soon as we could and headed home to start nebeulizing, eye dropping, and medicating.  I found as long as I laid down and didn't move I would do okay, but as soon as I had to get up I'd get dizzy and have to fight the nausea.  Well Tuesday is Matt's long day, he doesn't get home until after 10 pm because he's got class, so when he finally got home I just lost it.  Poor guy had to deal with the emotional wreck I was.  I was just so tired of feeling like crap.  Well, to try and make a long story short, the next day I went to the doctor and he just diagnosed me with an upper respiratory infection, and prescribed me some antibiotics.  Now it's over 24 hours later for me, and 48 hours for Brayden and we are new human beings.  We feel great, our energy is back, we can breathe, coughing is much less, red eyes are gone and we are ready to take on the world!  As for Andrew, it's just the beginning for him.  He's got the cough ,is complaining of his ear hurting, and has a fever.  So here we go again... Matt, however, is healthy as usual.:)

Bon Jovi + Daughtry = The Perfect Pair

So here we were, the 8 of us, heading to the Bon Jovi and Daughtry concert.  We ranged in age from 16 to 42, ALL of us so EXCITED!  As you can see we are all wearing matching shirts.  What you may not see is what the shirts said.  We (by "we" I mean Cee Cee, she's the creative one) decided we were going to make matching shirts for the concert that said "Perfect Pair..." (pun INTENDED) across the front in pink and BEDAZZLED, and then on the back said "Bon Jovi & Daughtry 2008".  Oh, the LOOKS we got.  It was priceless.

Here we are on our way to "The Pepsi Center"

2008 03 31_0544 2008 03 31_0546

We had a few bedazzling catastrophes.  Some of the jewels kept popping off, so we had to super glue them back on real quick.  As you can see super glue was not our friend.  Fingers got stuck together, fingers stuck to shirts and jewels, it just added to the memories.

                                 Bon Jovi

As you can see we were behind the stage, but we were pretty close.  It wasn't too bad.  I do wish they would've turned around a little more, but the times they did I never had my camera ready.

The concert was AWESOME though!!!!  Bon Jovi sang for over 2 and a half hours and probably could've kept going.  He didn't even come anywhere near singing all of his songs.  He had soooo much energy too.  I don't know how he did it...the stamina these performers have.  I was getting tired just standing up the whole time and doing my, step together step, kinda dancing.  Daughtry was awesome too!  I just wish he would've sang a little more, but I guess he doesn't have a big repertoire of songs yet.

We had a BLAST though and I'm sad it's over.  'Til next time I guess!

Videos from the concert

Here's Daughtry singing "Over You". I didn't get the whole thing beause my memory card wasn't very big, and I brought my old camera so the quality is not that great either. But it does give you a little flavor!

Bon Jovi singing "Blaze of Glory". Once again I didn't get the whole song and the video quality stinks, but oh well.
