Videos from the concert

Here's Daughtry singing "Over You". I didn't get the whole thing beause my memory card wasn't very big, and I brought my old camera so the quality is not that great either. But it does give you a little flavor!

Bon Jovi singing "Blaze of Glory". Once again I didn't get the whole song and the video quality stinks, but oh well.

And the husband of the year award goes to....

Matt

Now, I must give credit where credit is due! The sickies have hit my house again! It all started with me and a sore throat on Wednesday night. It is Brayden's Spring Break this week and so I had promised him a sleep over with his friend Riley on Wednesday night at our house, eventhough I wasn't feeling up to par. Well by Thursday morning I was feeling much worse, so I called Riley's mom around 10 am and she came by at 11 am to pick him up. Well the boys still wanted to play and so she said she'd take Brayden to their house until 3:30, which left just me and Andrew for the afternoon. So after I got Andrew down for a nap I laid down until Brayden got home. Well when Brayden walked in the door he looked terrible. He had droopy eyes and I could tell that something wasn't quite right with him. He started coughing terribly and had no energy. Then Matt got home at 4:30 and I decided I was going to try to take a nap. Well my nap turned into 14 hours of sleep. I didn't get up until 6:30 the next morning (Friday), and the only reason I woke up then was because Brayden was hollering out my name. Matt went running in there and found that Brayden had barfed all over his bed. At first we thought it was just because he had been coughing really hard, but noooo...about 20 minutes later, after crawling in bed with me, he started barfing again. Luckily we had THE BOWL (you know the one) close by. At this point Matt had decided he would stay home from work for the morning so that we could keep the kids apart. No sense having Andrew exposed. So there we were, Brayden and I (catching the barf), in my bed . Matt and Andrew out in the living room. Well Brayden continued throwing up for a couple hours and then took a little nap and when he woke up he was a new man. He wanted anything and everything to eat and there were no more barfs the rest of the day. However, he did have a cold on top of it that was getting much worse. His nose is a non-stop faucet and he's been coughing so hard I thought he might lose a lung, plus he's had a fever on top of it all. Meanwhile, I was still feeling like crap and in bed most of the day.

Now on to Saturday...Pretty much the same as for Brayden and I. Actually I felt like I was still getting worse and not better, and Brayden definitely still wasn't looking good. He was feverish most of the day. Andrew and Matt still seemed unharmed, until Saturday night when Matt decided he would make a run to the grocery store with Andrew. So he loaded him up in the car and just as they were getting to Wal Mart, Andrew barfed all over himself in his car seat. So much for keeping the boys apart. So Matt hurries home to get Andrew in the bath and the car all cleaned up. Oh great! Now we're going to be up all night with Andrew, but much to our surprise he only threw up the one time, and has seemed fine ever since.

Now
today...I'm feeling much better, Brayden is still feverish, Andrew has not barfed since, and Matt still remains healthy. So the reason I am giving him the husband of the year award is because he has taken care of the 3 of us like a true champ. He's prepared meals for us, been at everyone's beckon call, and best of all has kept my house so clean. The dishes are done, the dishwasher unloaded, counters wiped down, toys put away, you name it!!! It sure helps me to know that when I do get back on my feet 100% that I'm not going to have a humongous mess to clean up after being knocked down for so long. Way to go hubbie !!!! I love you and appreciate all that you do for us!!!!!!!

Happy Belated Easter!

Okay, so this is just a little late.  I have a good excuse though.  Matt's back to being busy with school, so when he's home on the week-ends, or anytime he's home for that matter, he dominates the computer and I don't have a chance to get on.  Anyway, I hope everyone had a good one and here's what we did to celebrate ours...

The boys decorated sugar cookies:

We decorated Easter eggs:

After...

(aren't they sooo cute?)

We had an Easter egg hunt (inside because it was tooo cold outside):

We then went to church looking studly:

And then we went to Grandma Deane's for a feast.  It was a lot of fun and when asked before going to bed "Why do we celebrate Easter?"  I was very proud and excited when Brayden answered "beause Jesus was resurrected."  He then asked us "Why do we have Easter bunnies and eggs then?"  We didn't really have an answer to that one, so if anyone knows why or how it ties in to the resurrection, please let me know!

Nightmares!

So I imagine Andrew was running scared from something like this all night long. My poor baby! He woke up sometime around the "butt-crack" of dawn this morning and climbed into bed with me saying, "Mommy, I scared ... dinosaurs "klja;sdfufis" (we'll call this Drew-lish) and dark." Does this bring a tear to anyone else's eye like it does mine? I never had to deal with nightmares with Brayden. He's never complained of them or woken me up in the middle of the night because of them. I hope this is not something Andrew's going to have to deal with on a continuous basis like I did when I was little. I spent many nights in my parents room after having nightmares as a child. It's not fun and I still have them as an adult. Of course, Matt never had any nightmares (or claims he didn't, Mom?), so the kids aren't going to get any sympathy from him there. Anyone have any remedies for nightmares or how to deal with them when your children wake up in the middle of the night, let me know!

Tubing video!

I've been trying to post this video for awhile but have been having issues. Matt took it while we were going down the hill and it turned out pretty good. We were all holding onto each other, it was lots of fun!

No kids...Winter Park here we come!!!!

So this past weekend Matt and I took a well needed, and might I add deserved break, and headed up the mountain to Winter Park with some friends.  Our friends, Deb and Jason, invited us up to Deb's brother's brand new kick butt condo in Granby, CO, which is about 15 minutes from Winter Park.  We were there with our other friends Bill and Cee Cee as well as Deb's brother, Matt, and his wife, Krista.  We had soooo much fun acting like kids, since ours weren't with us.  We stayed up until 3 am the first night chatting and playing our beloved favorite Rock Band.

The next day we decided to hit the slopes...

with our tubes.  We went sledding and it was so much fun!  There was this place that charged $17/hr to tube, yeah pretty much highway robbery, but they had tow ropes to pull you back up the hill when you were done.  Now that's my kind of sledding.

Oh, but I also forgot to mention we had to wait 2 hours just to get our tubes, because it was so crowded that day and warm.  We all started bundled up with about 14 layers of clothing and by the end we wished we had our swimsuits to do some bikini sledding (okay not really), but it was warm.

Here we are waiting...and waiting...and waiting...

Then finally our number was called and it was time for some fun!

This is how they would tow us up the hill.

The rest of our trip was spent hanging out, watching movies/sleeping through movies, and eating at over-priced restaurants with really bad service.

As a mom though, you kinda gotta love these moments.

So this has been life, off and on, for the past 2 weeks at this Kelly household.  It all started with Brayden and a cold, which lasted for about 3 days, followed by a couple days of healthiness (if that's a word), then another 3 days of Andrew with a cold, followed by another stint of healthiness, and then finally Mom got hit with it.  Yes, I have been bed ridden for the past couple days.  Probably because I got so worn out from taking care of the kids ALL NIGHT long while they were sick and then Matt and I had a fun weekend of partying (more on this later) where we both got NO sleep.  It was bound to catch up to me sometime, but I must say my kids have been real troopers trying to entertain themselves, knowing that mommy wasn't feeling good.  We are now all slowly coming out of it and things seem to be on the up and up, so hopefully next week will bring us much health and happiness.
